Background

LähiTapiola Pohjoinen is a mutual insurance company owned 100 % by its customers. We offer personal insurance services as well as services and insurance solutions to companies and organizations. We are one of LähiTapiola’s 20 independent regional companies. LähiTapiola is one of the most well-known and trusted Finnish insurance companies.

As we are owned by our customers, we should be offering superior service and feeling of ownership for them. Sure, we have bonus systems and discounts, but these are basic values and don’t really reflect the feeling of ownership.
We would like to dive deep into the meaning of ownership and find out how our owners (customers) could feel proud to be part of LähiTapiola.

Challenge

What does ownership mean to the younger generations? How is the feeling of ownership created?

What does the ownership enable? What are the social and societal aspects? How might we help our owners to be better citizens and support them in their goals and ambitions?

Can we foster meaningful and valuable communities among the owners?

How might we concretize the feeling of ownership into concrete actions within the community? What are the ways to make it visible and tangible?
