How can we change Portuguese industrial companies’ mindset to more closely meet the needs of competitive world markets following the trend of Industry 4.0.
Our company CODI has marketed 3D technologies for professionals for the last 20 years. Around 10 years ago, the technologies were only present in a niche of innovative companies. Today, this trend is becoming massive and has made all companies look to the amazing things that 3D printing can bring to their operations. The problem today is that companies in Portugal continue to see 3D printers as a way to create consumer products rather than professional solutions.
Acceptance of these types of professional technologies in the countries such as Germany, Italy and France has reached as much as 70% while in Portugal this is closer to 20%, as seen by market share.
The challenge we have:
How can we change the Portuguese companies’ mindset to understand the value of these professional technologies over consumption solutions? It is as if Portuguese companies think that deliveries of a large volume around Europe should be done in an A-class city car rather than a large truck.
What innovative solutions can be developed to win the hearts and minds of decision makers in Portuguese industry?
